What does Alliance Winding Equipment specialize in?

Alliance specializes in equipment for the production of electric motors and generators. All equipment and machine tools are designed specifically to the customers’ stator and rotor designs. This includes traditional round wire, hairpin and i-pin designs from the stator side; and copper or magnet designs for the rotor.

Alliance offers equipment for each process to produce the stator, rotor and motor assembly from start to finish. We are an automation company that integrates handling between our machines for fully automated production. We also offer other production solutions that implement stand-alone equipment with operator interfacing. This includes the following.

Stator - Round Wire

  • Material handling in/out - automatic pick and place of raw materials / finished goods
  • Lamination stacking - weld or cleat / straight or skewed
  • Slot insulating
  • Winding magnet wire - direct onto pole and wind then insert
  • Inserting wire into the core
  • Forming coil endturns
  • Coil and Lead connections - Joyal fusing and hot crimp
  • Lacing endturns of windings
  • Testing station integration
  • Resin impregnation for copper insulation - Newtech trickle and roll dip applications

Stator - Hairpin / I-Pin

  • Material handling in/out - automatic pick and place of raw materials / finished goods
  • Lamination stacking - weld or cleat
  • Slot Insulating
  • Hairpin bending integration
  • Laser ablation - enamel removal
  • Insertion and assembly of pins into stator slots
  • Twisting of pins
  • Weld pins - laser / MIG / TIG
  • Epoxy powder coat pins
  • Testing station integration
  • Resin impregnation for copper insulation - Newtech trickle and roll dip applications

Rotor - Wound or Permanent Magnets

  • Material handling in/out - automatic pick and place of raw materials / finished goods
  • Lamination Stacking
  • Slot insulation
  • Winding
  • Magnet placement automation
  • Shaft placement - Shrink and interference fit
  • Magnetization
  • Balancing integration
  • Commutator - Joyal brazing, fusing and crimping
  • Resin impregnation for copper insulation - Newtech trickle and roll dip applications

Full Motor Assembly

  • Material handling in/out - automatic pick and place of raw materials / finished goods
  • Press stator into motor housing
  • Press rotor into stator
  • Operator stations for assembly of all miscellaneous parts, seals, endcaps, etc.
  • Testing integration
